Hiking highlights

We will personally guide you to the most beautiful places in the region, but we will also be happy to tell you how to find them. Then simply set off on your own and explore the Schladming-Dachstein Region on your own.

But what we will definitely give you is the best information, tips for the most impressive places and maps so that you don't get lost in the mountain world of Schladming-Dachstein.

Klafferkessel - the King's Tour

It is said to be one of the most beautiful tours in the Eastern Alps - and not for nothing.

Nature presents itself to you in a diverse and magnificent way on this hike
You will discover lovely alpine landscapes, but also lovely lakes and ponds. You will hike along serpentines, over scree and snow fields. Wild rock sceneries line your path, but also arctic lake landscapes. An enjoyable hike, but one that requires 8-10 hours of exercise.

Höchstein - Moaralmsee

This is a hike for experienced hikers, as it takes you up to the Höchstein (2,543 m).

The last 20 metres are covered on the safe side.

You can also finish your hike at the Moaralmsee and enjoy the gentle play of the water. But before that, it's up to you: up to Hauser Kaibling, or over Lake Constance - the choice is yours

Hiking under sky-high rock walls

Starting from the Bachlalm, this circular trail leads through the cirque under the mighty Dachstein south face.

In addition to the beauty of nature, this tour awaits you with two special experiences. On the one hand, you can observe marmots in their natural environment, and on the other, you can visit the Neustadtalm, a place with dolomite character.

Rushing water and a crystal clear mountain lake

You can reach the Duisitzkarsee via a hiking footbridge or the forest road running parallel to it.

After the ascent, two alpine huts located by the lake will take care of your physical well-being. After you have enjoyed the literally breathtaking panorama, it is time to hike downhill again, along a varied path that requires a certain amount of sure-footedness.

The Stoderzinken

The Stoderzinken is particularly popular for its fantastic views.

A picturesque alpine walk leads you to the Friedenskircherl. This small church is built directly into the steep rock and impresses with its sensational location alone. The summit, however, is reserved for hikers with a head for heights. By the way: You can also easily reach the Stoderzinken by car from Gröbming via an 11 km mountain road.

Hike to the Guttenberghaus

The Guttenberghaus at 2164 m above sea level in the Dachstein Mountains is the highest Alpine Club hut in Styria.

In Ramsau, from the Feisterer hiking starting point, the path leads out over the Tiefkar in a few hairpin bends. After 45 minutes you reach the Lärchbodenalm.  Now the path is replaced by an alpine trail. At the Fischermauer, you walk directly along the rocks and the path now winds between the green hills of the Tiefkar towards the Guttenberghaus. From the starting point of the hike, you reach the Guttenberghaus in 2.5 hours on foot.
