Mountain Bike Routes
The Schladming-Dachstein Region not only has bike parks to offer, but is already an adventure in itself - numerous biking routes are waiting to be discovered. We are happy to share our favourite biking routes with you:
Hauser Kaibling Round
Length: 27,7km | Ascent: 834hm | 2,5 hours
With its 27.7km, the Hauser Kaibling Round is perfect for a leisurely bike tour. From the Naturhotel Höflehner you cycle into the valley to Ruperting through the subway of the federal road towards Weißenbach, where you turn left immediately after crossing the Enns bridge and pass the model airfield on the gravel path along the Enns. After crossing the Haus-Weißenbach connecting road, continue along the railway to the suspension bridge where you cross the Enns. After a short ascent past the swimming pool, you reach the market square in Haus/E. From here, take the connecting road to Haus/E. From here you ride on the connecting road for about 2 km to Oberhaus, where the approx. 7 km long mountain climb up the Oberhausberg begins.
At the top station of the Hauser Kaibling cable car you can enjoy the magnificent panorama. A short single trail leads over the ski slope to the large reservoir. After about 2 km on the forest road, the ascent leads towards the Stanglalm. Here you can enjoy the wonderful natural landscape throughout the alpine pasture area and also many a hut delicacy. On the way back from the Stanglalm, you drive through the Gumpental valley back to the Höflehner Nature and Wellness Hotel ****S.
Styrian Lake Constance
Length: 17,2km | Ascent: 580hm | 2-3 hours
From the hotel you start by bike in the direction of Gumpental. After the Maierlalm, you cross a small bridge in the direction of Petersberg. Here you can enjoy the wonderful alpine landscape.
Out of Gumpental you cycle a short descent in the direction of Seewigtal until you come to the Bodensee junction and here you have another short climb ahead of you on the right.
Once you arrive at the lake, you can get off your bike and explore the lake on foot with a one-hour tour or take a romantic boat trip on the lake. The way back is via the same path.
5-mountain loop
Length: 64,3km | Ascent: 2.111hm | 6 hours
Wonderful day tour with magnificent view mountains. Start at Hotel Höflehner, from there you ride over beautiful alpine pastures on the other side of the mountain in the direction of Petersberg, where the 2nd ascent to Gössenberg has to be mastered. On the way towards Seewigtal-Bodensee you have a wonderful view of the mountain massif with the Hochwildstelle.
After a short descent on the opposite side of the mountain, the next mountain climb starts towards Pruggererberg. To recover, there is a longer descent to Pruggern.
At the entrance to the village, turn right to climb the Michaelerberg at 1,200 metres above sea level. At the top you have a wonderful panorama of the Schladming-Dachstein holiday region.
After the descent to Moosheim, the route leads to Gröbming, where it continues along the Stoderstraße to the Assach Berg.
At the Assacher Scharte, you can enjoy the view of the Schladminger Tauern and once again follow the course of the first mountains. This is followed by the descent on the forest road to Assach, where the route continues to Aich and then leisurely along the cycle path to Ruperting.
This is followed by the last climb from Ruperting up the Gumpenberg back to the hotel.
