Mountain bike routes

The Schladming-Dachstein region not only has bike parks to offer, but is an adventure in itself - numerous bike routes are waiting to be discovered. We are happy to share our favourite bike routes with you:

Hauser Kaibling Tour

Length: 27.7km | Ascent: 834 metres | 2.5 hours

At 27.7km, the Hauser Kaibling loop is perfect for a leisurely bike tour. From the Naturhotel Höflehner, you cycle into the valley to Ruperting through the subway of the main road towards Weißenbach, where you turn left immediately after crossing the Enns bridge and follow the gravel path along the Enns past the model aerodrome. After crossing the Haus-Weißenbach link road, continue along the railway to the suspension bridge where you cross the Enns. After a short climb past the swimming pool, you reach the market square in Haus/E. From here, take the connecting road for approx. 2 km to Oberhaus, where the approx. 7 km long climb up the Oberhausberg begins.
At the mountain station of the Hauser Kaibling gondola lift, you can enjoy the marvellous panorama. A short single trail leads across the ski piste to the large reservoir. After approx. 2 km on the forest road, the ascent leads towards the Stanglalm. Here you can enjoy the wonderful natural landscape and many a mountain hut speciality throughout the alpine pasture area. On the way back from the Stanglalm, you cycle through the Gumpental valley back to the nature and wellness hotel Höflehner ****S.

Styrian Lake Constance

Length: 17.2km | ascent: 580 metres | 2-3 hours

From the hotel you set off by bike in the direction of Gumpental. After the Maierlalm, cross a small bridge in the direction of Petersberg. Here you can enjoy the marvellous alpine landscape.
From the Gumpental valley, cycle a short descent in the direction of Seewigtal until you reach the Bodensee junction, where there is another short climb on the right.
Once you reach the lake, you can get off your bike and explore the lake on foot on a one-hour tour or take a romantic boat trip on the lake. Return via the same route.

5-mountain loop

Length: 64.3km | Ascent: 2,111 metres | 6 hours

Wonderful day tour with marvellous panoramic mountains. Start at the Hotel Höflehner, from there you cycle over beautiful alpine pastures on the other side of the mountain towards Petersberg, where the 2nd ascent to Gössenberg has to be mastered. As you ride towards Seewigtal-Bodensee, you have a marvellous view of the mountain massif with the Hochwildstelle.
After a short descent on the opposite side of the mountain, the next climb starts in the direction of Pruggererberg. To recover, there is a longer descent to Pruggern.
At the entrance to the village, turn right to ascend the Michaelerberg at 1,200 metres above sea level. At the top, you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Schladming-Dachstein holiday region.
After the descent to Moosheim, the route leads to Gröbming, where it continues along the Stoderstraße to the Assach mountain.
At the Assacher Scharte, you can enjoy the view of the Schladminger Tauern and follow the route of the first mountains again. This is followed by a descent on the forest path to Assach, where the route continues to Aich and along the cycle path to Ruperting.
The final ascent from Ruperting up the Gumpenberg back to the hotel follows.
