Hiking with Alpacas in Schladming

If you have always wanted to go hiking with alpacas, we offer you the best opportunity. At 1117 metres above sea level, the cuddly animals feel right at home in Schladming in Styria.
Our cute "family members" have their home only a short distance from the hotel - along the farm round. They feel most at home in groups, which is why we have a total of 7 animals.
Miguel and Lilo
in 2019 we had 2 alpaca offspring. The birth and the days leading up to it made us all very excited, but fortunately everyone was well and the two crias, as the foals are called, have already grown considerably and are also allowed to accompanyour guests on the alpaca walks.
Alpaca Hiking
Our hiking guide Edith takes our guests on alpaca hikes several times a week.
The tour along the farm circuit is a leisurely, meditative hike, without stress and hectic. Alpacas are very good-natured and like to be led by adults as well as children, many find their affectionate nature very calming. Trust can quickly be built up with the animals by stroking and cuddling them through their soft fur, called fleece. Except for our oldest alpaca lady Luna, who is already in "retirement", all 6 animals are with us.

Alpacas can time their birth, they have their offspring in the morning when the weather is good,
because they have a short tongue and cannot licktheir babiesafter birth. - Alpacas generally do not spit at humans, but only at each other to defend themselves.
- Alpacas like to eat grass, leaves and dandelions
- The climate here in the mountains is perfect, warm during the day and cold at night, just like in their homeland in the Andes
Sustainable wool
in line with our 6n philosophy
We are especially happy about the alpaca wool we have won. The animals have already been sheared this year in May and soon we will be able to hold the soft wool in our hands again. Alpaca wool is processed into various garments and accessories that can be worn all year round. The very robust material is absolutely resistant and withstands wind and weather
