Sustainability

Mindful luxury of the natural across the generations

As a family-run hotel on the Gumpenberg in the green heart of Austria, we have been living with the rhythm of nature for three generations. Sustainability is part of our origins and future. Our daily endeavour is to preserve the natural treasure entrusted to us and to pass it on with joy to all future generations. In addition, the Naturhotel Höflehner has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel since 2012. Among other things, the seal of quality stands for the promotion of sustainable consumption and ecological management.

Regional cycles and partnerships for our natural cuisine

  • 70% of our suppliers come from Styria, 100% from Austria. This means we avoid long transport routes, strengthen local suppliers and keep jobs in the region
  • Game from our own enclosure - processed in a species-appropriate and CO₂-friendly manner directly in our own butchery.
  • We are supplied by local businesses. The Stefflbäck bakery supplies us with fresh baked goods and we get our beef from the Maierlhof farm in Ruperting. You can find all our suppliers under: Local partners
  • Many special and forgotten varieties grow in Höflehner's colourful herb garden, which are used in the kitchen
  • Höflehner teas for our breakfast buffet grow in our herb beds
  • Alpaca wool pellets - from our own farm - naturally fertilise our herbs
  • Snack garden for our little Nature Heroes in the Kids Club with currants, cucumbers, tomatoes and strawberries
  • Regional products in the energy-saving minibar
  • Ama Genussregion seal of quality
